Dinelson Lamet 2019 Outlook: May Ease Into Season
6 years agoDinelson Lamet flashed his potential in 2017 after rising through the ranks as one of the Padres top prospects, and boasted one of baseball's best sliders in addition to a mid-90s fastball. Unfortunately, he didn't throw a pitch in 2018 due to Tommy John surgery, and heading into 2019 he's still recovering. We can expect to see him no earlier than late May, and even if he's back to 100%, it's likely that he'll be on a pretty strict innings limit. He'll make for a nice last-round pick and DL stash if you have the room, but temper your expectations, as it's unlikely he'll even reach 100 innings in 2019.
