Deshaun Watson Not Expected To Play Sunday
3 years agoHouston Texans general manager Nick Caserio said he doesn't expect quarterback Deshaun Watson to play in Week 1 against the Jacksonville Jaguars while his legal situation plays out. "I wouldn't expect him to play. … I wouldn't anticipate him playing this Sunday and we'll recalibrate as we go," Caserio said. The expectation is that Watson will be inactive, but it's not really a surprise after the Texans already announced that Tyrod Taylor would be their starting quarterback to kick off the regular season. The situation with Watson will likely remain a week-to-week matter, and Houston is expected to keep him on their active roster throughout the season while he faces 22 active civil lawsuits. As a result, Watson should remain on the waiver wire in most fantasy leagues. Taylor will only be a starting option in deep two-QB leagues.
