DeeJay Dallas 2020 Outlook: A Running Back Prospect With Upside
5 years agoSeattle Seahawks running back DeeJay Dallas was drafted in the fourth round of this year's draft. He's a decisive runner who displays excellent contact balance. The perceived ambiguity in Seattle's backfield makes him a fascinating prospect to monitor during the season since he's an injury or two away from seeing a large workload. Chris Carson is projected to be the alpha in Seattle's backfield. Rashaad Penny and Travis Homer are waiting in the wings to earn a more significant role in the offense. If the injury bug rears its ugly head, then we could see Dallas carve out a role in a committee. The team just signed Carlos Hyde as an insurance policy in case injuries prevent Carson and Penny from starting the season. Hyde is expected to siphon some of the short-yardage and goal-line work. He has enough talent to develop into a functional fantasy asset if given enough touches. His 272.65 ADP presents him as a late-round fantasy option. In many drafts, he is going undrafted. A lot needs to happen for him to become fantasy relevant. Fantasy owners will need to be ready to pluck him off the waiver wire if he starts receiving a large workload. Although it might be unlikely to happen if the stars align, he is more than talented enough to be a league winner down the stretch.
