2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel caught four passes for 45 yards in the Niners' 19-12 Divisional Round victory over the Dallas Cowboys. The 27-year-old added 11 yards on four carries. With seventh-round rookie Brock Purdy starting at quarterback against an intense Cowboys defense, the 49ers followed a run-heavy game plan. Purdy had to get the ball out quickly or maneuver to avoid pressure. Samuel benefited the most from the game plan, leading all San Fran wideouts in receptions and receiving yards. Next week, the 49ers face the Philadelphia Eagles, whose defense allows the fewest expected points per play, in the NFC Championship Game, and the Niners might follow a similar strategy.--Mitchell Blatt - RotoBaller
