Darren Waller 2023 Outlook: A Return to Top-5 Upside Possible in a New Home
2 years agoInjuries once again limited Darren Waller in 2022, forcing the veteran tight end to play in just 9 games with the Las Vegas Raiders. When healthy, Waller still drew a steady dose of receiving work, finishing the season with 28 receptions on 43 targets for 388 yards and three touchdowns. Waller also set a career-high in yards per reception (13.9). Now Waller finds himself on the New York Giants after an offseason trade, learning a new offense with a highly effective offensive staff. Waller offers something to New York's offense that they didn't have before; a big target with inside/outside versatility that can win with size. Waller could lead the Giants in targets if healthy and offers top-5 potential at the tight end position with a team that can creatively use him in the passing attack.
