Danny Santana Plans To Sign Soon
4 years agoFree-agent infielder/outfielder Danny Santana (elbow) plans to have one more workout on Tuesday in Miami and plans to sign shortly after that. He is canceling his showcase on Thursday, as he's shown that he is healthy and ready to go in his individual workouts. Santana was the Texas Rangers Player of the Year in 2019 when he slashed .283/.324/.534 with a career-high 28 home runs, 81 runs scored, 81 RBI and 21 stolen bases in 130 games. But he managed to hit only .145/.238/.273 with a homer, seven RBI and two steals in 15 games in the shortened 2020 season and needed surgery on his elbow last September. The 30-year-old switch-hitting super-utility man could be worth a late-round flier in mixed leagues if he lands in the right situation. Stay tuned.
