Danny Salazar Hopes To Pitch Late In Spring Training
6 years agoCleveland Indians starting pitcher Danny Salazar (shoulder) is playing catch, but his goal is to be back on the mound by the end of spring training. If he's able to achieve that goal, he thinks he will be ready to pitch in a game before the All-Star break. The 29-year-old didn't pitch at all in 2018 for the Tribe due to his injury and struggled with injuries and inefficiency in 2017, but his strikeout upside (10.5 K/9 in five seasons) is what makes him attractive if he's right. Salazar will go undrafted in most mixed leagues, but he could be an attractive waiver-wire pickup during the season if he proves he's healthy and joins the rotation.
