It will be a de facto hometown race for Daniel Suarez in Austin on Sunday, as the Mexican driver looks forward to competing in one of the few races that his friends and family can attend. The momentum of having some support at the race track propelled him to qualifying second on Saturday with a lap of 92.741 mph. In his lone start last season at the Circuit of the Americas, Suarez dropped 18 places to 33rd in the Chevrolet for Track House Racing, so he will hope to improve on that result by starting at the front of the field.--Nate Duffett
