Damiere Byrd Leads Falcons In Receiving Sunday
2 years agoAtlanta Falcons wide receiver Damiere Byrd led the team's passing attack in their 35-17 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 7, a game in which quarterback Marcus Mariota only attempted 13 total passes. Byrd, who had zero catches on two targets in three games coming into Sunday's affair, caught his only target for a 75-yard touchdown strike against Cincy. The 29-year-old has now played in four straight games for the Falcons and played a season-high 34 percent of the offensive snaps on Sunday, but this out-of-nowhere performance is most likely an outlier and not a sign of things to come in Atlanta's run-happy offense. Fantasy managers shouldn't be considering picking Byrd up off the waiver wire.
