D.J. Augustin 2019-2020 Player Outlook
5 years agoOrlando Magic point guard had a very solid season in 2018-2019 but this upcoming season has the potential to be a different story. Last year Augustin averaged 11.7 points and 5.3 assists a contest. Also during last year's campaign, Augustin shot 47 percent from the field and 42.1 percent from three-point range. Those stats while solid are nothing extraordinary and with Augustin being 31 years-old turning 32 early next season regression is a definite possibility. The other potential pitfall for Augustin is that former first overall pick Markelle Fultz was acquired by the Magic at the trade deadline last year for multiple draft picks and small forward Jonathon Simmons. These two factors are definite warning signs going into this upcoming season for season-long fantasy players looking at Augustin. In most leagues, Augustin can be drafted in the ninth round or later because of these concerns. For fantasy players, there are two very different outcomes either he will be a late-round steal or a guy that becomes a replacement level back-up point guard that is drop-able in most leagues.
