Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Curtis McElhinney turned aside all 23 shots he faced in Tuesday's 4-0 victory on the road against the Pittsburgh Penguins. It was McElhinney's first shutout of the season, and the ninth of his career. The journeyman goaltender has been a real surprise this season splitting time with Petr Mrazek, posting a solid 12-6-1 record with a 2.37 goals-against average and .918 save percentage in 19 starts. The Hurricanes continue the road trip Thursday against old friend Jeff Skinner and the Buffalo Sabres.--Daniel Dobish
