Cowboys Release James Washington
2 years agoWith the emergence of newly signed Dallas Cowboys receiver T.Y. Hilton, the team released receiver James Washington on Wednesday, according to a source. Washington is healthy and has played in two games for the Cowboys this year, but he'll head to waivers and could very well be claimed by another team. The 26-year-old pass-catcher broke his foot in training camp last summer and didn't make his debut with Dallas until Week 14. In the two games he was active, he played only 15 offensive snaps and failed to haul in his only target. Meanwhile, Hilton has quickly gained chemistry with quarterback Dak Prescott and could play a vital role in the postseason for the Cowboys' passing attack. If Washington lands in the right situation, he could bounce back in 2023.
