Colts Preparing As If Carson Wentz Won't Play
3 years agoThe Indianapolis Colts are approaching a big divisional game against the Tennessee Titans in Week 3 as if quarterback Carson Wentz (ankles) won't play after he sprained both of his ankles in the Week 2 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Wentz didn't practice on Wednesday, but more importantly, he didn't even take part in the walkthrough. He's out of a walking boot, but unless a "surprise" occurs later this week, head coach Frank Reich said that Wentz won't play. Wentz's ankles have improved, but the right one is much worse than the left. Reich said he has never had a QB miss an entire week of practice and then play that weekend, so Wentz will have to practice by Friday to have a shot at suiting up. Fantasy managers shouldn't plan on having Wentz in superflex leagues this week. With backup Jacob Eason likely getting the start, you'll want to downgrade all of Indy's pass-catchers despite the great matchup against Tennessee's secondary.
