Clyde Edwards-Helaire Practicing Despite Illness
3 years agoKansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who is dealing with a non-COVID-19-illness, is expected to practice in some capacity on Wednesday, according to head coach Andy Reid said. Edwards-Helaire's status is one to watch as the week progresses, but it's a good sign that he's practicing to open the week. The second-year back saw limited touches despite a high-scoring affair in the Week 2 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, carrying the ball 13 times for just 46 yards and also losing a costly fumble. On top of the limited usage, CEH has just 3.3 yards per carry, which has obviously lowered his weekly ceiling so far. He'll need to be more efficient if he wants to be utilized in an offense with plenty of other weapons to go to. Edwards-Helaire will be an RB2 for Week 3 against the Los Angeles Chargers, a defense that's allowed 287 rushing yards and two touchdowns to RBs in the first two weeks.
