The Atlanta Braves returned Rule 5 selection Christian Cairo to the Cleveland Guardians. During spring training, Cairo posted a modest .179/.294/.250 slash line with two doubles. However, he was unable to earn a spot on the Opening Day roster and will continue his professional career with Cleveland. Fantasy managers should expect the Guardians to assign the infielder to minor-league camp. Last summer, Cario spent most of his time at Double-A and Triple-A. At the top level of the minor leagues, the 23-year-old posted a .233/.355/.314 slash line with five doubles, three triples, and two home runs. He posted a slightly higher .252/.353/.344 line at Double-A. If Cario continues his development at Triple-A, he could push for an MLB debut later this summer--Andy Smith
