Chris Godwin Not Practicing on Saturday
Chris Godwin (fibula) was not spotted at Saturday's practice ahead of the team's Monday night matchup against the Detroit Lions. Godwin suffered a fibula fracture in 2024 that required two surgeries, and the lingering effects of that injury continue to impact him. Godwin appears to be trending in the wrong direction for Week 7, and with the Buccaneers' bye week coming in Week 9, it would make sense for the team to give the veteran extra time to recover for the later part of the season. If Godwin is ruled out, expect Sterling Shepard, Tez Johnson, and Kameron Johnson to see expanded roles in Tampa Bay's passing game during their primetime clash with Detroit.
