Charlie Blackmon Extends Home Run Streak
6 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon did it again against the Red Sox. Trailing 3-2 in the top of the eighth inning, Blackmon drilled his ninth home run of the season to give the Rockies a one-run lead. It extended his hitting streak to 11 games, his run scored streak to 11 games, and it was his third straight game with a home run. Blackmon has also hit at least one extra-base hit in 10 of his last 11 games, and he's now hitting .302 on the season. He still doesn't steal very many bases compared to when he was younger, but it looks like he's back in the groove after a bit of a down year last year.
