Carlos Rodon Returns To White Sox
4 years agoThe Chicago White Sox re-signed starting pitcher Carlos Rodon to a one-year, $3 million deal on Saturday, pending a physical. Rodon became a free agent this winter when he was non-tendered by the team in early December, but he will return to pitch for the Pale Hose in 2021. The left-hander has made just 11 appearances (nine starts) for the White Sox in the last two seasons due to injury. Rodon has posted a 5.74 ERA and 1.46 WHIP over 42 1/3 innings in the last two seasons, so he wasn't very effective when he was on the mound. In 2020, the 28-year-old had a rough 8.22 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and six strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings for Chicago while battling shoulder issues. Rodon will compete for a back-end rotation spot this season, but until he can show fantasy managers that he can stay healthy and throw strikes consistently, he's one to ignore in the majority of leagues.
