7 years agoFree-agent outfielder Carlos Gomez is interested in re-signing with the Texas Rangers, and he rode a helicopter Tuesday across the island of the Dominican Republic to meet with general manager Jon Daniels. The 32-year-old Gomez hit only .255 with a .340 on-base percentage and .802 OPS in 105 games with the Rangers in 2017 and would provide them with another right-handed hitter and could play center or left field. Gomez still has some speed and can do damage when he makes contact, but he struck out 30 percent of the time last year. Depending on where he's playing, Gomez is still attractive in the later rounds for his power-speed combination. Staying in Texas would be the best thing for his fantasy value.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
