According to Jon Morosi of the MLB Network, the St. Louis Cardinals are not progressing in trade discussions with third baseman Nolan Arenado. Throughout the offseason, the Cardinals have been looking to clear salary, and Arenado's name has been on the trade block. The Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees have been reported to have shown interest but have been unable to complete a deal. While the team may eventually find a suitor, for now, fantasy managers should expect Arenado to operate as the top third baseman in St. Louis. Last season, the 33-year-old held a .272/.325./394 slash line with 16 home runs and two stolen bases. He showed a strong eye at the plate with a 14.5% K rate but struggled to generate power as he posted a poor 31.6 percent hard-hit rate. If Arenado were to be moved, Brendan Donovan would see most of the starts at the hot corner.--Andy Smith
