C.J. Anderson 2018 Outlook: What's His Role In Carolina?
6 years agoWith Jonathan Stewart's departure, most thought that the Panthers would be turning over lead back duties to Christian McCaffrey, but the addition of C.J. Anderson complicates things. Anderson is coming off his first 1000 yard season and found the end zone three times last year for the Broncos, but the team chose to let him go and get younger at the position. Anderson could see a lot of the early down work for the Panthers this year as McCaffrey is used as the pass catching and change-of-pace back. It's a situation worth monitoring over the course of the preseason, but right now Anderson looks like he could be a possible steal in fantasy drafts with an ADP outside of the top 30 at the position. Ron Rivera has traditionally gone with multiple backs, so Anderson presents some interesting upside.
