Bryce Miller Could Miss His Next Start
1 year agoSeattle Mariners rookie right-hander Bryce Miller (finger) is up in the air to make his next scheduled start on Wednesday against the San Francisco Giants after having to leave his last start early on Friday against the Tampa Bay Rays after 3 1/3 innings due to a blister on his right middle finger. "We're concerned," manager Scott Servais said on Saturday. "It's still sore today. He's getting some treatment on it to try to get that nail down, but it's (more about) what's going on underneath there." The Mariners expect to have a better idea on Miller's status after Sunday's game. There's a good chance the M's will err on the side of caution with the 24-year-old rookie and hold him out until after the All-Star break, so fantasy managers must prepare for that possibility. Miller was looking dominant on Friday before the blister arose, and he's currently 5-3 with a 3.97 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 55 K's in 59 innings over his first 11 big-league starts.
