Broncos Put Ja'Wuan James On NFI List
4 years agoThe Denver Broncos placed right tackle Ja'Wuan James (Achilles) on the Non-Football Injury list on Friday after he tore his Achilles while working away from the team's facilities on Tuesday. While it's not a guarantee, James is in danger of missing the entire 2021 season after opting out of last season due to COVID-19. He is set for surgery this and will have a more accurate timetable after the procedure. James is due $10 million in base salary this year, but with the injury occurring off site, the Broncos aren't contractually obligated to pay him. The 28-year-old signed a four-year, $51 million contract before the 2019 season, but he's playing in just three games for them so far. James spent the first five seasons of his NFL career with the Miami Dolphins after they took him 19th overall in the 2014 draft.
