1 year agoSan Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said that quarterback Brock Purdy (elbow) and the starting offense could play a series or two on Saturday in the second preseason game against the Denver Broncos. Sam Darnold will get the rest of the first half, with Trey Lance going in the second half this weekend. Purdy is no longer restricted from practicing on back-to-back days in training camp and could see his first preseason action against Denver on Saturday. The 23-year-old continues to improve after having offseason surgery on his right elbow, and all signs point to him being the team's starter under center when Week 1 rolls around. Purdy surprised most folks in his rookie season and led the Niners to the NFC Championship in his first NFL campaign. Fantasy managers should have him ranked as a low-end QB2 with limited upside heading into his sophomore season.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
