Brewers Re-Sign Mike Moustakas
6 years agoThe Milwaukee Brewers re-signed third baseman Mike Moustakas to a one-year deal on Sunday, according to sources. The deal is expected to be for around $10 million. His numbers were down from his final season with the Royals, and he hit .251/.315/.459 with 49 walks, 103 strikeouts and 28 home runs with Milwaukee in 2018. He was traded to the Brew Crew at midseason and hit .256 with eight homers and 33 RBI in 54 games for them to close out the year. He's unlikely to ever surpass the 38 homers he hit in 2017, but a return to Milwaukee is good for his fantasy value as a third baseman to target in the late middle rounds. His return is bad news for Cory Spangenberg and Hernan Perez. Travis Shaw will likely shift back to second base now.
