2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk was targeted four times and caught two passes for 19 yards in the Niners' 21-13 division title-clinching victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday Night Football. The Niners only attempted 26 passes this week and 21 passes last week. They are attempting fewer passes with Brock Purdy at quarterback than with Jimmy Garoppolo, whose volume per game already ranked towards the bottom third of the league. While Purdy has just had two starts, and things could change, the Niners may be utilizing a new, more run-heavy approach with the rookie under center. George Kittle and Christian McCaffrey have been Purdy's favorite targets in each of his starts. Fantasy managers should consider benching Aiyuk next week against the Washington Commanders, with his role in the offense appearing diminished.--Mitchell Blatt - RotoBaller
