Brad Lord Continues Sparkling June With Dominant Start
6 months agoWashington Nationals starting pitching prospect Brad Lord hurled seven shutout innings Wednesday for Double-A Harrisburg, scattering three hits and three walks while striking out seven. The start lowered Lord's ERA in June to 0.69 with a 0.85 WHIP. In four starts this month, the right-hander is 3-0 with 27 strikeouts and eight walks in 26 innings pitched. The 24-year-old is 8-1 with a 1.40 ERA and 1.03 WHIP for Harrisburg this season. Lord is not in the top 30 prospects for the Nationals but his numbers at Double-A this season will undoubtedly turn heads within the organization and around baseball. A promotion to Triple-A looks likely in the near future and a debut in Washington isn't out of the question by season's end.
