Bo Naylor Called Up For Sunday's Doubleheader
2 years agoThe Cleveland Guardians recalled catching prospect Bo Naylor from Triple-A Columbus on Sunday as the 27th man for their doubleheader against the New York Mets. Naylor isn't in the starting lineup for Game 1 of the twin bill, but there's a good chance he'll be starting in Game 2 later on Sunday. The team's No. 4 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, made his big-league debut in 2022 by going hitless in eight at-bats with five strikeouts in five games played for Cleveland. The younger brother of Josh Naylor has been slugging the ball in 41 games for Columbus this year, hitting .257 (38-for-148) with eight doubles, a triple, nine home runs and 32 RBI. The 23-year-old left-handed-hitting backstop could just be up for Sunday's doubleheader, so fantasy managers in redraft leagues probably don't want to spend too much on him as a waiver-wire pickup.
