Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that right-handed reliever Blake Treinen (forearm) will be shut down for a to be determined amount of time. The Dodgers are in no rush to bring Treinen back to the major-league bullpen, and they shouldn't given how many capable arms they have. The 36-year-old veteran was placed on the 15-day injured list back on April 19 with tightness in his right forearm. He will not return to the Dodgers when he's eligible to come off the IL later this week. Before his injury, Treinen had allowed three earned runs on eight hits (one homer) while walking three and striking out 10 in eight innings of relief. He also had two saves. For however long Treinen remains away from the Dodgers, right-hander Evan Phillips should have a bigger role as a late-inning setup man before Kirby Yates and closer Tanner Scott.--Keith Hernandez
