Benny Snell Jr. 2020 Outlook: Due To Take Over?
5 years agoPittsburgh Steelers running back Benny Snell Jr. could get an enhanced role this season. Though the oft-injured James Conner is seemingly healthy after battling knee and shoulder issues in 2019, the team may go in a separate direction upon the completion of his rookie deal at the end of the season. Jaylen Samuels is in the picture, but he is useful mostly catching passes out of the backfield. Snell is a solid runner as evident by his performances at points during last season, but the selection of Maryland running back Anthony McFarland Jr. in the 2020 NFL Draft may diminish Snell's value, especially in dynasty formats. However, owners should continue to hold on to him for now unless the price is right. For those who draft Conner this upcoming year, Snell is a slightly better handcuff option over McFarland and Samuels at the moment, but his outlook is shaky and also contingent on numerous factors throughout the season.
