Ben Joyce was set to start the season as the Angels closer. However, they signed Kenley Jansen to a one-year deal in February and the veteran reliever is set to assume closing duties for the Halos. That doesn't mean Joyce should be completely disregarded in fantasy. He will be next in line for saves should anything happen with Jansen, who hasn't been lights out himself recently. In his two years with the Red Sox, Jansen had a 3.44 ERA (99.1 IP) with a 4.30 xFIP and 3.62 SIERA. In leagues counting holds, Joyce still has value as he will at least take on higher-leverage roles and is the likely setup man. The Angels will probably be seeking to trade Jansen at some point during the season. They won't be in the playoff hunt and will be hoping Jansen can be a productive closer so they can get some value back in a trade. That should open the door to Joyce closing later in the season. Unfortunately, until such time, Joyce's fantasy value is very limited in standard leagues. He's only worth drafting in holds leagues or if you can stash him in the hope he takes over the closer role later in the season.--Jamie Steed
