Bam Adebayo 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoAll the signs suggesting a Bam Adebayo 2019-20 breakout season are there. Adebayo has been extremely productive the past two seasons despite playing only about 20 minutes per game, mostly due to the presence of Hassan Whiteside, who is no longer in Miami. Now, the center position in Miami is all Bam’s and the potential for what he could bring on a fantasy level is very high. Last year, Adebayo played just over 23 minutes per game and averaged 8.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, 0.8 blocks and 0.9 steals while shooting 57.6% from the field. This year, he should regularly see around 30 minutes per game, maybe more. With his extra seasoning and experience in addition to the added minutes, Adebayo could easily flirt with 15 points and 10 rebounds per game while keeping his field goal percentage right around 57% and adding over one block and one steal per game. That amounts to about a late third-round value, given the difficulty of finding a player who can supply such a stat line. Center is the most elusive position in fantasy and Adebayo could provide some stability at the position if things click for him. Target him around the fifth round or even higher if you miss out on a center in the early rounds.
