According to the Yakyu Cosmopolitan, the Lotte Marines of Nippon Professional Baseball have signed right-handed pitcher Austin Voth. Voth was non-tendered by the Seattle Mariners earlier in the offseason and will take his talents to the NPB. Last summer in Seattle, Voth held a 3.69 ERA with a 1.05 WHIP across 61 innings of work. He tallied 61 punchouts and held a 7.3 percent walk rate. Under the hood, Voth generated a strong 3.14 xERA with a .210 xBA. The 32-year-old also limited hard contact at an elite 29.5 percent hard-hit rate. Across 360 1/3 career MLB frames, the former fifth-round selection holds a 4.70 ERA and a 1.34 WHIP. Voth began his career as a starter but was transitioned to the bullpen. However, Voth may be given an opportunity to return to the rotation in Japan.--Andy Smith
