Archie Bradley Has A Chance To Close
7 years agoArchie Bradley was moved to the bullpen full time in 2017. He responded accordingly with stuff that most hoped Bradley would demonstrate as a starter. Bradley was able to give greater effort due to shorter stints on the mound, resulting in better performance. His average velocity on his fastball increased to 96.4. His strikeout percentage of 27.2 and walk percentage of 7.2 were both stellar and improvements from his 2016 stats. The humidor at Chase Field doesn't really affect Bradley that much as he is a ground-ball pitcher. The only question is Bradley’s role in the Diamondbacks bullpen. The team has brought in two relievers this offseason that could potentially compete for the closer's role. Regardless of how the Diamondbacks utilize Bradley, he is a must own, especially in holds/saves leagues. If you already own Bradley in a dynasty league, keep him; he seems destined to become the Diamondbacks' closer.
