Andy Dalton Should Be Ready For Next Week
4 years agoDallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy isn't ready to completely rule out quarterback Andy Dalton (concussion) for Week 8 against the Eagles, but owner Jerry Jones said that Dalton "should be ready to go next week" against the Steelers. Rookie Ben DiNucci has taken all the first-team repetitions in practice this week and is in line to make his first career start after going 2-for-3 for 39 yards in relief of Dalton in Week 7. Dalton would need to practice on Saturday to have a chance at playing this Sunday, but that's a long shot at this point since he's still in the concussion protocol. Garrett Gilbert would serve as DiNucci's backup if Dalton is inactive. DiNucci shouldn't be considered anything more than a low-end QB2 in superflex leagues this weekend.
