Ameer Abdullah 2018 Outlook: Time For A Change
6 years agoAmeer Abdullah came out of Nebraska with a ton of hype and just as many fumbles to his credit. He started his career with a flurry, breaking off a long run against the Jets in his first preseason game and cementing what every one thought: he would be a stud. Since then, though, he has had a number of disappointing seasons in Detroit, leading to the signing of LeGarrett Blount this off season as well as the drafting of rookie Kerryon Johnson. Abdullah could be a training camp cut. With Blount, Johnson and receiving back Theo Riddick, the crowded backfield is no place for Abdullah. If he can find a job on another NFL team and restart his career, he has the talent to be a solid running back but as for this season, his value is minimal at best even if he sticks on the Lions roster.
