Alex Mack Expected To Sign With 49ers
4 years agoAtlanta Falcons free-agent center Alex Mack is expected to sign with the San Francisco 49ers, according to a source. The Cal product will return to the Bay Area. Mack has been with Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan in Cleveland and Atlanta. Coupled with the historic signing of left tackle Trent Williams on Wednesday, San Francisco's offensive line is in extremely good hands with both Williams and Mack in the fold. The 35-year-old Mack is no longer in the prime of his career, but he's a three-time second-team All-Pro and six-time Pro Bowler who is familiar with Shanahan's system. The two offensive line signings is a huge boost for the team's running game, which currently has Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr. atop the depth chart with Jerick McKinnon and Tevin Coleman both free agents.
