Agustin Ramirez Powers Marlins Past Padres
Agustin Ramirez went 4-for-5 with a home run and four RBI in his team's 10-8 win against the San Diego Padres. He scored twice and singled thrice to pick up the first four-hit game of his career. The 23-year-old occupied the leadoff spot in this one, and the only time the Padres could keep him off the base paths was to lead off the game. However, it's worth noting that at-bat was a 336-foot 105.4-MPH fly out, so even then, he still got a hold of it. He'd homer in his next at-bat -- his seventh of the season -- but most of Ramirez's damage came late when he pushed two runs across in the top of the eighth to give his team a 9-7 lead. He's cooled considerably since his hot start, but this may be enough to get him going again. The rookie is slashing a respectable .262/.318/.525 in his first taste of big-league action.
