Adam Shaheen Expected To Make Big Jump
7 years agoChicago Bears tight end Adam Shaheen, who was only targeted 14 times in 13 games, is expected to make a big leap in his second season. He also played the fourth fewest snaps (239) among the team's tight ends in 2017 in his rookie season and missed the final three games with a chest injury. Shaheen managed to impress, though, catching 12 passes for 127 yards and a team-high three touchdowns. “It’s so much different for me this year, at least from a mental standpoint,” Shaheen said. “And knowing what I needed to do physically this offseason and doing what I had to do, and then coming out here, even with the new offense it just feels a lot slower.” Shaheen is also a bit leaner this spring at 270 pounds. Despite Shaheen's upside and rapport with quarterback Mitch Trubisky, he'll be behind Trey Burton as the main pass-catching tight end, limiting his fantasy value some in 2018. Shaheen is a much more interesting commodity in dynasty leagues.
