49ers Defense Faces Possible Cornerback Shortage In Week 5
4 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers Defense has been a ramshackle group during 2020 due to injuries, which looks as if it’ll only continue heading into Week 5 versus Miami. Cornerback K’Waun Williams (knee) has been diagnosed with a knee sprain, which is likely to land him on injured reserve alongside Richard Sherman (calf). To extenuate how dire things have gotten in the secondary for San Francisco, Dontae Johnson (groin) reportedly sustained a groin injury Sunday against the Eagles, but continued to play due to the team’s scarcity of options. With Ahkello Witherspoon (hamstring) and Emmanuel Moseley (head) also potentially out of the mix versus the Dolphins, the 49ers defense is heading toward becoming a tenuous play despite their seemingly favorable matchup.
