BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 53% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: I know I'm breaking the 50-percent-tops-rostership rule, but this well merits it. If only because of what is going on with Nyheim Hines this season in the fantasy world. No, I'm not talking about some of the shaky outings he's been through, but precisely his rostership at least through the first nine games of the year. In years past this RB2 was just that, a backup/role-player/afterthought I wrote about weekly. Now? Far from it. So give me a break and let me type something about Nyheim.
Hines started the year with a bang (14.2 PPR points), followed that up with a forgettable night (3.2), and then boomed for an RB13 finish thanks to scoring 18.9 FP in Week 3. After that: nothing. Seriously, from W4 to W8 included Hines scored 14.7 PPR points total. Ugh. No one is taking Jonathan Talor's no. 1 rusher role from him, that's obvious, but Hines had a super-breakout game this past TNF when he scored a season-high 20.8 PPR points facing the Jets.
Hines' snap share sits at an average of 37% on the year, but it got up to 45% last Thursday. He carried the rock 6 times for an impressive 74 yards and even found pay dirt crossing the goal line for the second time this season. Hines added 34 receiving yards on 4 receptions (6 targets) but missed on scoring. Perhaps the 50%+ rostership is a tad too high for what Hines is doing, and there might be some next-man-up baked into it just in case Taylor falls down injured. But for someone solid, known, and with a somewhat high ceiling, fantasy GMs in deeper leagues can't do much worse than rostering Hines this week and having him ready going forward.
