NFL Wide Receiver Playoff Rankings: Week 14 Fantasy Football

RotoBaller brings you our Week 14 fantasy football wide receiver rankings by authors Zach Wilkens (@LopsidedTrades) and Ryan Rufe (@RyanRufe), along with wide receiver rankings analysis by Zach Wilkens.

Week 14 Wide Receiver Rankings Analysis

By AJ Guel (ajguel.com) (originally posted to Flickr as <a title=Another week where the wide receiver position is loaded with top talent. You might be surprised to see Demaryius Thomas at WR6, but the Bills are a very good defense, and the guys above him all have very good matchups. I still think he is an excellent play.

I was pretty high on Alshon Jeffery, but I’m a little afraid that he might be less than 100% for his Thursday game against the Cowboys. I still like him as a low-end WR1. I’d love to see Brandon Marshall bounce back with a strong game, but I can’t say it’s likely to happen.

As I expect the Saints-Panthers game to be much better overall than their last meeting, I like Kelvin Benjamin to play a lot better than he did the first time around. Their first meeting was his worst of the season at just 18 yards. I don’t find a repeat of that performance likely at all.

Kenny Stills has been awesome since Brandin Cooks went on IR. He isn’t getting a ton of snaps (in fact, Nick Toon played more snaps last week), but the targets and production are there. I am a big fan, and I don’t see it stopping. He is the most talented wide receiver on this team right now, and he’s making a real case as to why they need to play him more often next season even when Cooks is healthy.

As mentioned in the QB section, I don’t like Mark Sanchez at all this week. As a result, I’ll  be looking elsewhere as a Jordan Matthews / Jeremy Maclin owner. I think it’s pretty likely that one of them will be a total dud, and though the other might get a score, both will probably let you down in the end. I currently have them WR30 and 31– still a “play” recommendation in deeper leagues, but hopefully you have better options.

I’m also very low on Keenan Allen. Whether he’s covered by Revis or Browner, he should struggle. He isn’t dominant enough to get a big play like Jordy Nelson did.

Kendall Wright is coming off a big day last week, and with Justin Hunter out, he has a great chance to keep that up against the Giants. He’s a nice sleeper, especially in PPR leagues. Similarly, Harry Douglas had a nice game last week. Roddy White is looking very questionable. If he can’t go, I think Douglas has another good chance for a 100-yard game. Keep an eye on that situation.

Good luck in Week 14 and your playoff matchups RotoBallers!
