Quincy's NFL QB power rankings for Week 2 of the 2025 season. He ranks all 32 starting NFL quarterbacks before Week 2, from Josh Allen to Cameron Ward.
NFL quarterback play was shaky in Week 1. Some of our league's best passers, such as Baker Mayfield, Joe Burrow, and C.J. Stroud, could not even crack 200 passing yards. Defenses often have the edge over offenses early in the season, but this week felt worse than the norm. We can expect times to get better, but our start was inauspicious.
On the bright side, we witnessed a few exceptional performances. Justin Herbert and Josh Allen crushed, and resurgences from Justin Fields and Daniel Jones were great performances to witness. Those types of games can give NFL fans hope that this will be a great NFL season.
The biggest thing any NFL fan can do this week is not overreact to Week 1. The first week of the season is always a hodgepodge of mirage and truth. We know who our studs are in this league, and we know that they will perform. It can take up to a few weeks for the truth of the season to begin taking form. With that said, let's dive into how each quarterback is trending as we head into Week 2.

No. 32: Cameron Ward - Tennessee Titans
Cameron Ward had a tough start to his NFL career. He drew a very hard matchup against a quality Broncos secondary in Week 1, which kept him below a 50% completion percentage. However, we saw signs of greatness from Ward, who has impressed throughout the preseason. Times will get better for the youngster.
No. 31: Spencer Rattler - New Orleans Saints
Spencer Rattler played quality ball in Week 1. The Saints faced what should be a solid Cardinals defense and took the game right down to the wire. Rattler had the Saints in position to tie the game before a couple of incompletions resulted in a loss. If Rattler continues to play like he did in Week 1, he will hold onto this job.
No. 30: Russell Wilson - New York Giants
Russell Wilson looked completely outmatched in Week 1 against the Commanders. His offensive line did him no favors either. Wilson has been in decline for several years, but he has remained an average quarterback. His play this weekend was next-level bad. The clock is ticking for our first glimpse at Jaxson Dart under center.
No. 29: Bryce Young - Carolina Panthers
Bryce Young entered Week 1 with high expectations after a spectacular finish to the 2024 season. However, Young played poorly and looked nothing like the player he was beginning to turn into. Hopefully, Young can bounce back in Week 2.
No. 28: Joe Flacco - Cleveland Browns
Joe Flacco carved up a vulnerable Bengals defense all day on Sunday. The 40-year-old looks as spry as ever, with an ability to get out of the pocket and complete passes on the run. The Browns narrowly lost the game, but it was not Flacco's fault. He should remain the starting quarterback as long as he continues to play like that.
No. 27: Daniel Jones - Indianapolis Colts
Jones may be the newest quarterback reclamation project. He delivered on Sunday with three total touchdowns in an unbelievably dominant win over Miami. Miami looks terrible on defense this season, but if Jones can deliver an encore against Denver on Sunday, we need to start having a new conversation.
No. 26: Drake Maye - New England Patriots
Drake Maye flashed greatness once again in Week 1, but he also made several mistakes. Once the Raiders turned up the pressure, Maye looked rushed and out of sync. He has a great chance to bounce back in Week 2 against Miami's porous defense.
No. 25: Justin Fields - New York Jets
Fields gave the Jets a lot to look at in Week 1. He ran all over a great Pittsburgh defense with three total touchdowns. Fields was dropping dimes all afternoon. We have seen great games from him in the past, but the next-level accuracy was a novelty. Hopefully, it sticks.
No. 24: Caleb Williams - Chicago Bears
Caleb Williams was shaky in Week 1. He came out on fire, but he finished 21/35 for just 210 yards and a touchdown. Williams has looked like he has a full grasp of the Ben Johnson offense at times, but the mistakes that plagued him in 2024 are still very apparent. He will need to get a lid on his emotions to truly succeed in this league.
No. 23: Trevor Lawrence - Jacksonville Jaguars
Trevor Lawrence could get the Liam Coen treatment in 2025. Coen helped Baker Mayfield achieve a massive season in 2024 with the Buccaneers. Lawrence is entering Year 5 in the league, and he has yet to consistently prove that he is a No. 1 overall pick in the league. This is a huge turning point for the young signal-caller.

No. 22: Michael Penix Jr. - Atlanta Falcons
Michael Penix Jr. nearly willed the Falcons to victory on Sunday. An outstretched rushing touchdown was the epitome of Penix's effort in Week 1. The Falcons ultimately fell short of victory, but Penix's promising performance over the reigning division champions suggests there could be something here.
No. 21: J.J. McCarthy - Minnesota Vikings
J.J. McCarthy began Week 1 looking overmatched by Chicago's defense. However, head coach Kevin O'Connell continued to let McCarthy make mistakes until he found his rhythm. McCarthy answered by leading the Vikings on a massive second-half come-from-behind victory. McCarthy looks like the real deal.

No. 20: Tua Tagovailoa - Miami Dolphins
Tua Tagovailoa looked plain terrible in Week 1. He threw two inexplicable interceptions and lost a fumble. The Dolphins' offensive line looked terrible, which, in turn, made Tagovailoa look terrible. There is a real reason for concern in Miami.
No. 19: Geno Smith - Las Vegas Raiders
Geno Smith had a solid debut in Las Vegas. He connected with wide receiver Jakobi Meyers and tight end Brock Bowers repeatedly throughout the game. Most importantly, he made the Raiders' offense look respectable. Vegas squeezed out a win against New England and will look to improve in Week 2.
No. 18: Kyler Murray - Arizona Cardinals
Kyler Murray was reportedly very ill prior to Arizona's Week 1 win against New Orleans. As such, Murray missed a handful of throws in Week 1 that he should have made. Still, his chemistry with wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. was notably better, even if his one incompletion to Harrison would have gone for a long touchdown.
No. 17: Sam Darnold - Seattle Seahawks
Sam Darnold's debut in Seattle was spoiled by a red zone strip sack that ended the game. Darnold and the Seattle offense were not in midseason form, but his connection with wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba was special.
No. 16: C.J. Stroud - Houston Texans
Stroud and the Texans were embarrassed by the smothering Rams defense on Sunday. Stroud had no time in the pocket, and the offense continued to sputter. To make matters worse, Stroud and co. lost another offensive lineman to injury during the game. Houston could be in serious trouble this season.
No. 15: Aaron Rodgers - Pittsburgh Steelers
Aaron Rodgers was sort of back in Week 1. His four touchdown passes brought out his signature fist pump celebration. Most importantly, Rodgers looked like he was having fun on the field this week. If he continues to play like he did on Sunday, Rodgers will rise very far up this list.
No. 14: Brock Purdy - San Francisco 49ers
Brock Purdy got lucky on Sunday. The Seahawks' defense had his number all game long. His go-ahead touchdown pass was a throwaway that should have been intercepted. The good news is that Purdy faced an excellent defense and could substantially improve moving forward. Hopefully, he is able to play this week after exiting the game with shoulder and toe injuries.
No. 13: Bo Nix - Denver Broncos
Bo Nix looked like a rookie all over again in Week 1. He looked no better than he did at the beginning of the 2024 season when he was certifiably terrible. Despite having a great offensive line and quality weapons around him, Nix looked very uncomfortable on Sunday. The onus will be on head coach Sean Payton to simplify things for Nix moving forward and fall back into his late-2024 success.
No. 12: Dak Prescott - Dallas Cowboys
Dak Prescott and the Cowboys played a great game against the Eagles to open the NFL season. Prescott looked fully healthy, and he was dropping unbelievable passes to his weapons throughout the game. Drops sank the Cowboys, but it was due to no fault of Prescott.

No. 11: Baker Mayfield - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Mayfield did not look like a player who would follow up his insane 2024 campaign with an encore. Mayfield did manage to throw three touchdown passes, but the Bucs struggled to move the ball throughout the game.
No. 10: Jordan Love - Green Bay Packers
Jordan Love and the Packers' offense dominated the Lions in Week 1. Love's services were hardly needed as he threw only 22 passes, resulting in 188 yards and two touchdowns.
No. 9: Matthew Stafford - Los Angeles Rams
Matthew Stafford looked nice and healthy in Week 1. He found his top target in wide receiver Puka Nacua, 10 times for 130 yards against the Texans. If the Rams can continue to manage Stafford's back issues, they will be able to go a long way this season.
No. 8: Jared Goff - Detroit Lions
Jared Goff got embarrassed in Week 1 by what looks to be an unbelievably good Packers defense. Goff and the Lions' offense could do nothing. Goff managed 225 passing yards, but he took four sacks and threw only one touchdown. He has a chance to get back on track in Week 2 against Chicago.
No. 7: Justin Herbert - Los Angeles Chargers
Herbert looked like the elite quarterback we all know him to be in Week 1. He was slinging the ball all over the place and running wild against Kansas City in Brazil. With the way head coach Jim Harbaugh talks about Herbert, exciting games like that may just be getting started.

No. 6: Jayden Daniels - Washington Commanders
Jayden Daniels picked up in Week 1 where he left off in 2024. However, his chemistry with top wide receiver Terry McLaurin was slightly off with McLaurin returning from his offseason absence. Daniels and McLaurin should begin connecting any day now, and the magic should return.
No. 5: Joe Burrow - Cincinnati Bengals
Burrow has been knocked down a few spots after a horrendous showing against Cleveland. The Bengals' offense was completely inept in a game that the Browns should have won. Burrow is too full of talent for this game to define him, but it was a concerning showing for Cincinnati's offense.
No. 4: Patrick Mahomes - Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes attempted to play Superman in Week 1 against the Chargers. He was running all over the field, but the Chiefs are still having trouble pushing the ball down the field. With wide receiver Xavier Worthy nursing a shoulder injury, things may not get easier for Mahomes and the offense in a hurry.
No. 3: Jalen Hurts - Philadelphia Eagles
Jalen Hurts was unstoppable in Week 1. With the Cowboys' defense shutting down the Philadelphia rushing attack, Hurts took the game into his own hands and ran for two touchdowns. His efforts included a beautiful 51-yard bomb. He continues to keep the haters at bay.

No. 2: Lamar Jackson - Baltimore Ravens
Lamar Jackson played a complete game in Week 1, but the Ravens still managed to lose to the Bills in the final moments of the game. Jackson and the offense will need to find ways to continue putting up points at the end of games to avoid these fourth-quarter collapses.
No. 1: Josh Allen - Buffalo Bills
Allen was incredible in Week 1. His four total touchdowns and 400-plus yards of offense were everything to the Bills this past week. Allen showed the league that he is more than deserving of his 2024 MVP award.
