DraftKings and FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (10/24/22): NBA DFS Lineups

NBA DFS sleepers and values plays for DraftKings and FanDuel on October 24, 2022. Juan Carlos Blanco gives you his top NBA DFS picks and lineup targets.

We begin the week with a solid eight-game slate Monday night that features an abundance of big names in action, including Kevin Durant, Jayson Tatum, and Ja Morant, to name but a few.

Luckily, there are also plenty of viable mid-range and value options to fill out lineups with, and I'll attempt to provide examples of those for each position in addition to an elite player to consider.

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 10/24/22. Remember to monitor the NBA injury report as the slate can completely change before lineups lock, which is at 7:00 pm ET tonight. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings and FanDuel Guards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Ja Morant - PG, MEM vs. BKN ($10,100 DK; $10,100 FD)

The reasoning behind Morant's rostering essentially speaks for itself after his MVP-caliber start to the season. The All-Star guard did have a down game against Dallas on Saturday night while playing his third game in four nights, but he opened the campaign with a range of between 49.3 and 73 fantasy points on DK and FD. The Nets have started the season allowing over 49 DK and over 50 FD points per game to point guards, along with 48.0 percent shooting, including 50.0 percent from three-point range, to ones.

D'Angelo Russell - PG/SG, MIN vs. SA ($7,400 DK; $7,300 FD)

Russell is coming off a stellar second game of the season where he scored 47 DK/ 46.7 FD points against the Jazz on Friday night. The veteran guard, who's now back in a primary ball-handling role, has gotten the weekend to rest up after that wild overtime contest and draws a matchup against a Spurs squad that's allowed over 60 DK and FD points per game to point guards in the early going, and that also ranks in the bottom-five of the league in rebounds, assists, blocks, and offensive efficiency (34.7 percent) surrendered to ones.

Tyrese Maxey - PG/SG, PHI vs. IND ($5,800 DK; $6,500 FD)

Maxey is another very reasonably-salaried point guard that draws a premium matchup Monday, as the Pacers are averaging the sixth-most possessions per game (109.4) and have allowed over 46 fantasy points per game to ones on either site. Maxey has opened the season with 21- and 25-point tallies in two of his first three games, and he's logging between 34 and 40 minutes in each contest and shooting a solid 46.8 percent overall. It's also worth noting Indiana has given up 42.9 percent three-point shooting to PGs thus far, while Maxey was a 42.7 percent shooter from distance a season ago.

ALSO CONSIDER: Tyler Herro - PG/SG, MIA vs. TOR ($6,500 DK; $6,500 FD)

DraftKings and FanDuel Forwards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Jayson Tatum - SF/PF, BOS at CHI ($9,900 DK, $10,400 FD)

Speaking of fast starts, Tatum has been outstanding while helping lead the Celtics to a 3-0 record. The superstar forward has scored between 47.3 and 61 fantasy points overall on both sites in those contests while shooting an incandescently hot 58.7 percent, and a career-best 88.0 percent from the charity stripe.

Tatum's Monday matchup sees him going up against a Bulls squad that's allowed the fourth-highest offensive efficiency to power forwards (39.7 percent), along with over 44 fantasy points per game on either site to the position. Then, it's worth noting Chicago has also yielded an NBA-high 46.9 percent success rate from distance, upping the chances for Tatum, who's already averaging 8.0 three-point attempts per game, to deliver on his salaries.

Lauri Markkanen - SF/PF, UTA at HOU ($6,400 DK; $7,600 FD)

Markkanen has been the most vital component of the Jazz's shocking 3-0 start, as the trade acquisition has taken to his new digs and upped his scoring in each game. The big man topped out Sunday against the Pelicans with a 31-point, 12-rebound double-double over 39 minutes, and he now gets a crack at a Rockets team that's already allowing the third-highest three-point shooting percentage (42.9).

Markkanen is already averaging 24.0 points, 9.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.3 steals, giving him just the type of well-rounded profile that could allow him to overdeliver on modest salaries that don't seem to factor he's now scored over 50 fantasy points in each of his last two games.

Michael Porter Jr. - SF/PF, DEN at POR ($6,000 DK; $5,800 FD)

Porter appears to finally be healthy again after playing in only nine games last season due to his back issues and is carrying especially reasonable salaries for a player that's opened the season averaging 18.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.0 assist, and 1.0 steal while shooting 51.4 percent, including 50.0 percent from distance, over his first three games. Porter has scored over 30 fantasy points on either site in each of his last two games, and what should be a wire-to-wire battle with the Trail Blazers makes him one of the best potential fantasy-point-per-dollar plays of the night at forward.

ALSO CONSIDER: Julius Randle - PF, NYK vs. ORL ($8,200 DK; $7,900 FD)

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Joel Embiid -  PHI vs. IND ($10,500 DK; $10,300 FD)

Embiid makes for an excellent pairing with Maxey in a matchup against a Pacers team that's already allowing the ninth-highest offensive efficiency rating to centers (33.7 percent), along with more than 57 fantasy points to the position per game on both sites.

Indiana is also yielding the sixth-most rebounds per contest (59.3), along with the fifth-highest offensive efficiency in the paint (64.7 percent). Embiid has already turned in two excellent performances, including a 40-point, 13-rebound double-double against the Spurs on Saturday, and he should be massively involved with Philadelphia desperate for its first win.

Rudy Gobert - MIN vs. SA ($9,100 DK; $9,100 FD)

Just as Markkanen has taken well to Gobert's old Utah digs, the Stifle Tower has been excellent over his first three games in Minnesota while sharing the frontcourt with Karl-Anthony Towns. Gobert is averaging 15.7 points, 18.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 1.3 blocks across 32.3 minutes, and he's facing a Spurs team Monday that's allowing the 10th-most rebounds per contest (56.3) and third-most points in the paint (56.7) as well. San Antonio is also giving up the second-highest offensive efficiency to centers (42.3 percent), setting Gobert up for another fruitful night.

Alperen Sengun- HOU vs. UTA ($5,600 DK; $5,500 FD)

Sengun makes for a great value option in a Rockets-Jazz game that could turn into a back-and-forth affair. The second-year big has yet to draw a start over his first three games, but he's putting up 15.7 points, 10.0 rebounds 1.0 assists, and 1.0 blocks across 24 minutes per contest. Sengun's role off the bench is secure, and Utah has allowed over 57 fantasy points per game to centers on either site in the early going. Utah is also conceding an NBA-high 66 points in the paint per game, another metric working in Sengun's favor at his very modest salaries.

ALSO CONSIDER: Nikola Jokic, DEN at POR ($10,900 DK; $11,200 FD)
