NBA Daily Fantasy Lineup Picks - FanDuel Basketball Advice for 3/23/16

We've got an absolutely monster slate ahead of us tonight with 12 games scheduled, which somewhat makes up for the poor selection we were subject to last night. The Bucks - Cavs and Hawks - Wizards kick us off at 7 pm on the east coast, but the rest of the games have a west coast feel, both in games I'd like to target and ones that should be the most entertaining offensively (looking at you, Mavericks - Blazers and you, too Clippers - Warriors).

As for Vegas insights, I'm missing lines on four games as of this writing, but there are a handful of games with high projected overs that I've got my eye on for cash games and I certainly want some exposure to in tournaments. The best of the aforementioned group is probably the Kings at Timberwolves (223.5), followed by Clippers - Warriors (225), Mavericks - Blazers (214.5) and Lakers - Suns (210). Yes, the Warriors game has a higher projected total than the Timberwolves, but I'd rather chase players in the game with the weaker defenses.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy NBA lineup picks for FanDuel on 3/23/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players, to mid-priced options, and value plays on FanDuel.

FanDuel DFS Guards

Ricky Rubio (vs SAC, $7,000)

Ricky has been playing great over the past week or so, exceeding value in six of his last 10 games by an average of more than six points a contest. From a fantasy perspective, the best thing about his recent 40+ point performances is that his salary has risen only $300 in that time, and he's still in that mid-tier range for point guards. Tonight, he's got a fantastic opportunity and matchup against the Kings, in what should be one of - if not the - highest scoring game of the night. The Kings allow more points to opposing point guards than any other team in play tonight.

Steph Curry (vs LAC, $10,600)

Even at this price point, Steph might be somewhat of a bargain tonight. My projection model likes him quite a bit, and as such, I don't think he has too much difficulty hitting value and then soaring past it against a defense that has been worse than the average in surrendering points to opposing guards. Over his last 10, Curry has exceeded value in seven of those contests, and he usually performs exceptionally well in front of his home crowd.

Damian Lillard (vs POR, $8,900)

I'm going after guards playing in the core four games I pointed out above, ones that project to be high scoring and feature teams who, for the most part, aren't considered defensive stalwarts as a unit. Lillard has been a little all over the place in March in terms of fantasy performance, but with his salary drop and a great matchup lying ahead of him tonight, the time is right to roster SubZero.

Rodney Hood (at HOU, $5,300)

I got a little carried away with my point guard suggestions, but there's so many different directions you can take tonight that, in my opinion, could have lucrative outcomes. The shooting guard crop isn't quite as appealing, but there are some mid-range salary guys tonight that I have my eye on. My favorite of the group is Hood, who  can be had for the low, low price of $5,300. The matchup tonight is a strong one, as he faces the Rockets, a group that allows more points to shooting guards than any other team taking the floor tonight.

Punt Play: Kyle Korver (at WAS, $3,500)

Also Consider: Devin Booker (vs LAL, $6,300)

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Carmelo Anthony (at CHI, $8,700)

Pound for pound, dollar for dollar, Carmelo is my favorite cash game play of the evening. His price has dropped $200 over the last 10 days despite exceeding value in five of those contests, and reports out of Knicks' camp are that he is finally migraine free and practicing fully. That puts my mind at ease a bit, and what excites me most about rostering Melo this evening is the points the Bulls are allowing to opposing small forwards, which is nearly four points a night over the average. The nice thing with Anthony is that you know the shot opportunities are always going to be there. If they're falling even at just a decent rate tonight, he'll hit and exceed value fairly easily.

Gordon Hayward (at HOU, $6,700)

While Anthony is my favorite play of the night, Hayward is crowned my favorite value play. I know the price tag doesn't scream value or bargain, but the matchup is incredible and his price has plummeted more than $500 in the past 10 days. The Rockets are horrendous defensively and play at a faster pace than the Jazz, which should give Hayward and his teammates more possessions - and thus scoring opportunities - than they're accustomed to.

Alex Len (vs LAL, $6,500)

In my opinion, Len's value has greatly risen now that he's slotted as a power forward, rather than center. His play over the past week doesn't reflect that value, but I think he's in for a pretty big night against the Lakers, who are on a back-to-back and struggle mightily to slow down opposing big men. In fact, they allow more fantasy points to opposing bigs than any other team in action on Wednesday.

Also Consider: Rudy Gay (at MIN, $6,100)

Punt Play: Darrell Arthur (vs PHI, $3,700)

FanDuel DFS Centers

Marcin Gortat (vs ATL, $6,100)

Gortat is the best bargain among the centers this evening. His play recently hasn't been too inspiring, but I think facing one of the worst rebounding teams and a weak interior front court should be just the recipe to get him back to the 35+ fantasy point nights he is capable of. His usage rate and usage projection for tonight isn't too inspiring, but I love the price and opportunity for double digit rebounds that should create a nice fantasy floor.

Also Consider: Nikola Jokic (vs PHI, $6,100)
