MLB DFS Picks Today: Daily Fantasy Baseball Strategy and Tips For FanDuel, DraftKings (7/4/25)

Spencer Strider - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

Jamie's top DraftKings and FanDuel MLB DFS picks for today, Friday, 7/4/25. His favorite daily fantasy baseball lineup sleepers and value picks for DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.

I want to wish our entire RotoBaller family a happy, healthy, and safe Fourth of July weekend! If you get the day off from work today, enjoy your three-day weekend and the two slates of baseball that are on tap. This article deals with the eight-game night slate, but our RotoBaller Discord chat is already discussing afternoon baseball.

A belated congrats to Clayton Kershaw for logging his 3,000th K the other night (and for winning me my money back in cash play with that milestone). Truly a legendary career. I'm also excited for Yankees-Mets this weekend, or as I like to call it, the "which NY team stinks more right now" series.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 7/4/2025, with the slate starting at 7:07 PM on DraftKings and 6:40 PM on FanDuel. The lineup picks will showcase elite players, mid-priced options, and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is always essential.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Spencer Strider, ATL ($10,000 DK/$9,500 FD)

Tonight's slate offers some interesting decisions when it comes to the hitters, but at the top of the SP pool, it's Spencer Strider and not close. He's going to be megachalk on both sites, and it's with good reason, considering what we're looking at with the rest of the starting pitchers. In cash, set him and forget him. In GPPs, it may even be a good idea to come in over the field, given the tier break.

Strider has found his stride (ha) with 33 strikeouts over his last four contests and over a 19% swinging strike rate in that span. Baltimore has improved of late in the K department against righties, but they still rank 26th in wOBA in the split. The matchup really doesn't matter, though, as Strider's career 35.8% K rate dwarfs the rest of the field by a long shot. Get him in your lineups.

Sandy Alcantara, MIA ($7,100 DK/$8,300 FD)

On FanDuel, your decision is easy, especially since Strider is actually underpriced over there. On DK, you have to have a second pitcher, and this is going to be where a lot of contests are won or lost. In an ideal world, you're probably pairing Strider with Kris Bubic, but that may eat enough salary that will cripple you offensively.

So, we're bargain-hunting for SP2 today. Since there are no real standout matchups, we're going to be betting on the talent of a recent Cy Young winner. Sandy Alcantara is certainly not posting the numbers he did in 2022, but there are indicators that he's going to improve this season (especially if he's traded).

Alcantara has been brutalized by bad luck with a 54% strand rate, and his FIP is over two full runs lower than his ERA. Milwaukee is a tough K matchup for RHP, but Alcantara will also have the benefit of pitching in his climate-controlled home park. At his cheap price tags, he fits the SP2 (or GPP pivot on FD) mold perfectly.

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Nick Kurtz, 1B - ATH ($4,300 DK/$3,200 FD)

The Giants-Athletics game is the premier game to stack tonight. The Triple-A park the Athletics are playing in has been well-documented as amplifying offense (just ask Luis Severino how he feels). Justin Verlander is a first-ballot Hall of Famer, but we've reached the point in his career where we can start attacking him in DFS.

Verlander is only posting a 34.4% GB rate, and his 3.33 BB/9 is the highest of his career since 2008 when he was with Detroit. Nick Kurtz has been crushing RHP in his rookie season for a .385 wOBA, .302 ISO, and 42% HHR, and he's still not priced accordingly.

Addison Barger, 3B/OF - TOR ($4,200 DK/$2,900 FD)

Kudos to Zach Thompson yesterday for making Addison Barger his cover boy. Barger has been a revelation for the now-first-place Blue Jays (ugh), and he crushed the Yankees in the recent series with six hits, two homers, six RBI, and a stolen base.

The matchup gets even better tonight against Kyle Hendricks, who has allowed a .374 wOBA and 1.55 HR/9 over the last three seasons. He only has a 16% K rate and 39% GB rate, and Barger has a .225 ISO against RHP this year.

Ryan McMahon, 3B - COL ($4,000 DK/$3,300 FD)

The two worst teams in baseball square off this weekend as the White Sox and Rockies do battle. Ordinarily, we wouldn't even look at a matchup like this, but it's in Coors Field, and the current O/U sits at 11 runs. Some of the players' prices are amped up a bit too much for their talent level, but Ryan McMahon is not one of them.

The Rockies' 3B should hit squarely in the middle of the Colorado lineup, and he'll face off against Adrian Houser. The veteran righty has fashioned a serviceable career for himself, but his 16.5% K rate over the last two seasons is not conducive to Coors Field. The White Sox bullpen also ranks 28th in FIP.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Riley Greene, OF - DET ($5,300 DK/$3,700 FD)

I'll be honest. I've been following Detroit's success closely this year (most notably for how much the Yankees could use Gleyber Torres right now), but somehow, I've missed just how good Riley Greene has been. The Tigers sensation is crushing it this year, with a .890 OPS, .253 ISO, 21 homers, and 69 RBI.

Greene will hit in a premier spot against Slade Cecconi, and the latter has given up a .367 wOBA and 1.86 HR/9 to LHB so far this season. Greene has slugged RHP for a .393 wOBA, .257 ISO, and 160 wRC+ this year and offers SB upside as well.

Heliot Ramos, OF - SF ($4,400 DK/$3,200 FD)

The Giants are my favorite stack of the day (even over the Coors teams) as they travel to play the Athletics in what used to be a cross-bay rivalry. Heliot Ramos will likely lead off against the lefty JP Sears, and a potential five plate appearances in this game gives Ramos one of the highest floor-ceiling combos of any hitters.

Sears is having a miserable year for the A's with a 28.9% GB rate and a 12.8% HR/FB rate (both career worsts). His K rate is down, and his BB rate is up, and pitching at home is not going to do him any favors. Ramos has lambasted lefties for a .432 wOBA and .310 ISO this season and is the first hitter I'm clicking into cash.

Jo Adell, OF - LAA ($4,000 DK/$3,300 FD)

Jo Adell has finally figured out how to play baseball! The former top prospect had a June to remember, with a 1.032 OPS and 11 homers over his last 27 games. Ready for the kicker? He's actually UNDERPERFORMING his peripherals in this run, and the metrics suggest he's going to get even better. Congrats if you acquired him through FAAB this season. Enjoy the ride.

For DFS, we're easily rocking him today. Adell's price does not remotely reflect his recent success, and the Angels are getting a park boost going to Toronto (as long as the roof is open). Eric Lauer is striking out a batter per inning, but he's still had his struggles with righty power (1.50 HR/9 allowed). Adell has belted lefties for a .324 ISO this season.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

1. San Francisco Giants vs JP Sears

Sears has a 28.9% GB rate, 5.18 FIP, and 18% K rate and has allowed 1.87 HR/9 this season. He's pitching in a Triple-A park tonight against a Giants' team that has success against lefties, and San Francisco is full of affordable hitters. The winds are going to be blowing out at 10 MPH, solid hitting weather.

Favorite Combo: Ramos, Lee, Flores, Devers

2. Athletics vs Justin Verlander

We can't forget the other side of the diamond in this one! Verlander is a premier name, but he is not pitching like a premier pitcher anymore. He has only an 18.7% K rate and 34.4% GB rate, and the A's are full of young upstart hitters (most of which are affordable). I like a full game stack here.

Favorite Combo: Butler, Rooker, Kurtz, Langeliers

3. Chicago White Sox vs Antonio Senzatela

I know the teams are bad, but we can't leave the stack section without seeing a team from Coors Field represented. Despite having the worst record in the AL (and almost no recognizable hitters), the White Sox have the highest IRT on the slate at 5.8 runs. Poor Antonio Senzatela has made a career of getting beaten up in Coors, especially against LHB.

Favorite Combo: Tauchman, Benintendi, Vargas, Teel
