On the pitching side, we have several high-end arms taking the mound, especially two of the top left-handers, Chris Sale and Noah Cameron. On the hitting side, we could see fireworks in the Dodger Stadium when the Mets and Dodgers play the third game of their four-game set.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Nick Pivetta, SDP at SF ($10K DK/$10.5K FD)
Nick Pivetta has enjoyed a fantastic start to his San Diego tenure. Through his first 62 1/3 innings of work, the right-hander has struck out 71 batters and posted a stellar 2.74 ERA with a 1.01 WHIP. This evening, he will face the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park.
This season, the Giants have posted the 13th-highest strikeout rate against right-handed pitching and the ninth-lowest wRC+.
Sawyer Gipson-Long, DET at CHW ($6K DK/$7.1K FD)
Sawyer Gipson-Long is set to make his season debut against the Chicago White Sox. While it may be risky to select a pitcher who has been sidelined since last April due to Tommy John, he has one of, if not the best, matchups on the slate. He will face the White Sox, who have the seventh-highest strikeout rate against righties and generated the second-lowest ISO and lowest wOBA.
In his last two rehab outings with Triple-A, he logged 9 1/3 innings with nine punchouts and a stellar 0.75 WHIP.
Sawyer Gipson-Long continued his rehab in AAA as he fired off 5.1 innings with 1 ER and 5 K

Zebby Matthews, MIN at ATH ($7.7K DK/$8.2K FD)
My final pitcher to highlight is Zebby Matthews of the Twins. Matthews was one of the most dominant pitchers at Triple-A to open the campaign and was given the call to the big leagues on May 18. Through 14 innings this season, the righty has shown high strikeout upside, tallying 21 over this stretch, with just five walks.
In his most recent outing, Matthews overcame a rough first inning, logged seven innings of four-run ball (all four runs in the first inning), and tallied seven punchouts against the Mariners. He is a top value pitcher on the slate.
I left Sale off my top plays this evening as he will face the Arizona Diamondbacks, who have posted the lowest strikeout rate against left-handed pitching this season. In addition, they posted the 11th-highest wOBA facing southpaws. While Sale still holds high upside, I would rather invest my salary in high-octane bats.
Others To Consider (Cash/GPP):
- Noah Cameron, KC at STL ($8.8K DK/$9K FD) Update - Game has been rained out
- Clarke Schmidt, NYY vs. CLE ($8.2K DK/$8.9K FD)

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Pete Alonso, 1B - NYM at Tony Gonsolin ($5.1K DK/$3.8K FD)
Pete Alonso has only gone hitless once over his last 10 games and is in a prime position to stay hot against Tony Gonsolin. Gonsolin relies heavily on his fastball (40.5% of the time), and it has not found much success. This pitch has generated a hefty .309 xBA with a .603 xSLG.
When facing four-seamers from right-handed pitching, Alonso has generated an elite .715 xSLG (second-highest on the team) with a .290 ISO (highest on the team).

Gleyber Torres, 2B - DET at Jared Shuster ($4.6K DK/$3.3K FD)
While Jared Shuster's primary pitch, his changeup, has found great success this season, his second-most-used pitch, his fastball, has not. Through the opening two months of the campaign, Shuster's fastball generated a high .364 xwOBA, nearly 150 points higher than his changeup's xwOBA.
When facing fastballs from left-handed pitching this season, Torres has been very productive, posting an elite 1.207 xSLG with a .709 xwOBA. While he enters this game in a 2-for-15 slump, Torres is a top one-off selection if you want to have exposure to the Detroit starting nine.
Will Smith, C - LAD vs. Griffin Canning ($5K DK/$3.2K FD)
Griffin Canning relies on two pitches, his fastball and slider, just under 65% of the time. While his fastball has been effective, his slider has struggled to limit hard contact. This pitch has generated a high .452 xSLG with a low 17.3% put-away rate.
When facing right-handed pitchers, Smith has flashed high power upside. He has generated a strong .286 ISO and a .406 xwOBA, both of which are the third-highest marks on the team, trailing just Freddie Freeman (see below) and our top outfielder. Smith is worth paying up for as your top catcher this evening.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):
- Freddie Freeman, 1B, LAD ($5.8K DK/$4.1K FD)
- Francisco Lindor, SS, NYM ($5.6K DK/$3.9K FD)
- Jazz Chisholm, (2B on DK) (2B/3B on FD), NYY ($4.9K DK/$3.3K FD)
- Spencer Torkelson, 1B, DET ($4.3K DK/$3.3K FD)
DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Shohei Ohtani, (1B/OF on DK), (OF on FD) - LAD vs. Griffin Canning ($6,4K DK/$4.8K FD)
While Smith and Freeman will find success against Canning, Ohtani is the Dodger you want to view as your "lock." When facing sliders from right-handed pitching, Ohtani has generated a 1.022 xSLG, .570 xwOBA, and .400 ISO. All three of these marks are the highest on the team.
Over his last nine games, Ohtani has found his power swing, launching six long balls.

Trent Grisham, OF - NYY vs. Luis L. Ortiz ($4.5K DK/$3.1K FD)
Trent Grisham has a prime matchup against the right-hander Luis L. Ortiz. Ortiz's most-used pitch, his fastball, has not found much success, generating a .525 xSLG, which is more than 100 points above the .409 SLG it currently holds.
When facing fastballs from right-handed pitching, Grisham has been one of the most productive hitters in the Yankee lineup, boasting a .627 xSLG with a .372 ISO. His ISO and xwOBA are both the third-highest on the team.
Juan Soto, OF - NYM at Tony Gonsolin ($5.3K DK/$3.7K FD)
Similar to Alonso, Soto has a prime matchup against the four-seam heavy pitcher Gonsolin. When facing fastballs from righties this season, Soto has generated a remarkable .722 xSLG with a .493 xwOBA, both of which are the highest marks on the team.
After his slow start, Soto's elite metrics are beginning to show on the field. He has posted a .333/.455/.944 line over his five games. During this stretch, he has launched three long balls and two doubles.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):
- Aaron Judge, OF - NYY ($6.5K DK/$5K FD)
- Andy Pages, OF - LAD ($4.2K DK/$3.1K FD)
- Matt Wallner, OF - MIN ($4.3K DK/$3K FD)
DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks
1. New York Yankees vs. Luis L. Ortiz
As stated above, Ortiz's primary pitch, his four-seamer, is due for some significant regression. The 26-year-old currently sits well below the average marks in most metrics, which should put the Yankees in a prime position to light up the scoreboard. His 4.97 xERA and .267 xBA place him in the 17th and 25th percentile, respectively.
In addition, Ortiz has generated a high 11.6% barrel rate (15th percentile) and 50.0% hard-hit rate (fifth percentile).
Favorite Combo: Judge, Chisholm, Rice, Grisham, Wells
2. New York Mets vs. Tony Gonsolin
Gonsolin has allowed at least four runs in his last five starts and has another tough matchup ahead of him against the New York Mets. Gonsolin's four-seamer has been relatively ineffective, generating a hefty .617 xSLG with a .439 xwOBA.
Overall, the 31-year-old sits in the 11th percentile in xERA, 15th percentile in barrel rate, and 33rd percentile in hard-hit rate. Target the Mets with confidence this evening.
Favorite Combo: Alonso, Soto, Lindor, Acuna
3. Los Angeles Dodgers vs Griffin Canning
The Mets and Dodgers are quite interchangeable at the No.2/No.3 spot, and you could convince me to move them both above the Yankees as they carry very similar upside.
As noted above, Canning has found success with his fastball (.205 xBA), but his slider has generated a high .347 xwOBA. He deploys these pitches at similar usage rates (34.4% and 32.4%). Overall, Canning sits in the 36th percentile in xERA (4.18), which is much higher than the 3.23 ERA he currently holds.
Favorite Combo: Ohtani, Freeman, Pages, Smith
