Fantasy Football Draft Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider drafting in 2025:
Keenan Allen, WR, Los Angeles Chargers
After a one-year stint with the Chicago Bears, wide receiver Keenan Allen is returning to the Los Angeles Chargers on a one-year deal. The 33-year-old enters his 13th season, reuniting with quarterback Justin Herbert, with whom he had one of his best seasons in 2023 (108-1,243-7 in 13 games). His production dipped last year, posting a 70-744-7 line with the Bears while battling a heel injury, which was reflected in his fantasy points per game plummeting from 21.5 to 12.4.
A key question for 2025 is how Allen will fit into the offense, as he plays a similar role to second-year stud Ladd McConkey, who had more success in the slot last season. However, Allen has been equally effective from the slot and the outside throughout his career, solidifying him as one of the most versatile receivers of the last decade.
RotoBaller projects Allen with an 84-896-6 stat line, currently ranking him as WR55, but with those numbers, he should be more in the WR40 conversation by the end of camp. If he stays healthy, his familiarity with Herbert could lead to a productive season, making him a solid WR4 with WR3 upside. He is a proven, consistent, and talented weapon who should add depth, stability, and leadership to an offense looking to take a step forward this year.
Nick Chubb, RB, Houston Texans
Houston Texans running back Nick Chubb just signed with the Texans on a 1-year deal. He slotted into the RB2 position pretty much immediately, in some sort of committee between he and lead back Joe Mixon -- but now Mixon is injured (ankle) and will miss at least four games to start the year. Chubb now looks to be the RB1 in Houston. Chubb's production in 2025 will also be heavily dependent on how his recovery from his most recent injuries is progressing. A nasty knee injury that tore his ACL ended his 2023 season prematurely. He returned in Week 7 in 2025 to play, but broke his foot in Week 15, ending his comeback season early.
Chubb could get more volume than people expect -- if he's able to return to just 80 percent of what he was before his knee injury, he could justify the team giving him a solid workload, which would make him fantasy relevant in deeper leagues. For now, it's hard to tell, but there's not a ton of reason for enthusiasm. He's highly unlikely to become a true workhorse unless Mixon gets a season-ending injury, and even if he does, he could be a shell of his former self.
Rome Odunze, WR, Chicago Bears
After being drafted ninth overall by the Chicago Bears in 2024, expectations were quite high for wide receiver Rome Odunze. With fellow rookie Caleb Williams throwing him the ball, Odunze was able to post decent numbers in his first season. He hauled in 54 catches for 734 yards and three scores over 17 games. Inconsistent play by Williams, exacerbated by a horrendous offensive line, was not the ideal position for a rookie receiver, as Odunze ranked 2nd in unrealized air yards (917) with an atrocious catchable target rate of 64%. Consistent volume was also hard to come by, with DJ Moore and Keenan Allen, and sometimes even Cole Kmet above Odunze in the pecking order.
Things are looking up for the second-year wideout with the Bears' moves this offseason. Allen became a free agent, and Chicago brought in offensive-minded Ben Johnson as the Bears' head coach. Johnson has already been very vocal about how impressed he is with the sophomore wideout. It's worth noting that the Bears just used their first two picks in the 2025 NFL draft to grab pass catchers. The Bears selected tight end Colston Loveland 10th overall and wide receiver Luther Burden III in the second round. However, that shouldn't detract too much from Odunze's opportunities this coming season. Burden III is primarily a slot receiver while Odunze aligns outside, and Loveland will share reps with Cole Kmet.
There are a lot of mouths to feed in this Chicago offense, but with what should be a drastically improved offensive line and another year to grow with Williams, Odunze is expected to take a big leap in his second season into the WR2 range as the clear No. 2 target in this offense. RotoBaller is on board with Odunze making the second-year leap and has the 23-year-old ranked as WR33 heading into upcoming fantasy drafts.
Chris Olave, WR, New Orleans Saints
2024 was a disaster for New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave. He was notably left out of New Orleans' scoring outburst at the beginning of the season. Then, just when he was getting on track, quarterback Derek Carr (shoulder) went out with an abdominal injury. One week later, Olave sustained his first concussion, converting his lone target on 3% of snaps. The 24-year-old sat out the following week and returned with a big eight-catch, 107-yard performance on 14 targets, but suffered another concussion in the ensuing game and never took another snap.
Though it's still the offseason, the turmoil hasn't quit for the Saints. The team announced Carr's issues with his shoulder, and he ultimately retired, leaving a hole in the Saints' lineup anyway. To fill the job, QBs Spencer Rattler, Jake Haener, and second-round rookie Tyler Shough will compete, offering an uninspiring trio of field generals. Despite a ton of talent, the uncertainty around the Saints' offense and a lack of experience in the QB room undoubtedly lowers his ceiling.
The Ohio State product was once regarded as a rising asset and should still operate as the top option. Still, it's possible we don't see his best this year with New Orleans' offense in transition. He slots in as RotoBaller's WR29 and No. 59 overall player.
Keon Coleman, WR, Buffalo Bills
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman is entering Year 2 with a chance to take over as the top wide receiver in the offense. Despite speculation that the Bills would add a pass catcher, they doubled down on their in-house options and re-signed Khalil Shakir. The team demonstrated through their actions that they trust what they already have. Some of Coleman's efficiency metrics were solid despite only recording 556 receiving yards and four touchdowns in 2024.
He received 10 red zone targets, and he was fourth in the league in yards per reception at 19.2. He only caught 29 of 57 targets, but despite his 10 red zone targets, many of his targets were downfield. Additionally, Coleman only caught four of his red zone targets.
In other words, there is a lot of room to improve, and the Bills will likely scheme better looks for Coleman now that he has been in the building for a full year. Coleman is currently ranked by RotoBaller as the WR51, which is roughly in line with his ADP. He is a great player to take a flyer on given the potency of the Bills' offense and the talent of quarterback Josh Allen.
