ANALYSIS: It looked like Javonte Williams had turned his season around following a strong Week 7 performance against the New Orleans Saints.

However, since then, he posted finishes of RB30 and RB35. Williams is only averaging 3.79 yards per carry this year, and his underlying data is not much better. Per Next Gen Stats, Williams ranks just 44th out of 47 eligible running backs in Rush Yards Over Expected (RYOE). He just hasn’t been very good this year.
Denver now gets a date against the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs. Their defense has been very stout against opposing rushers. Kansas City ranks second in defensive rush DVOA per FTN Fantasy and allows the third-fewest rushing yards per game in the league.
Combine a bad running back with a poor matchup, and you’ve got a recipe for disaster. Williams should be avoided at all costs and only started in the deepest of leagues.
