The rookie is competing for touches with veterans Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr. four touches in the Miami backfield.
Due to his size (5'9", 188 lbs.), Achane does not profile to be an every-down back. Instead, expect coach Mike McDaniels to scheme him open in space, in addition to a few traditional carries.
De'Von Achane Injury Update For Fantasy Football
Achane is not practicing during Saturday's scrimmage and reports say he is walking very gingerly. He is doing some rehab work on the side. The injury, right now, is undisclosed, but consider him day-to-day for now.
De'Von Achane 2023 Fantasy Football Outlook
The Dalvin Cook cloud is still hanging over the Miami Dolphins. If he signs with Miami, Achane's value will tank. Four mouths to feed in a backfield is a few too many for fantasy football players. If Cook signs anywhere else, Achane's ADP will rise.
Expect all three running backs currently on the roster to get touches this season. Snap shares will fluctuate weekly, with Achane likely working more in the passing game and certain formations to start the season.
Achane is worth a late-round flier in fantasy drafts for his big-play ability or as an insurance policy in case of an injury to Mostert or Wilson.
